JOHOR BARU: The hot, sunny weather has made a cendol drive-thru at the busy Pasir Gudang Highway a popular stop for thirsty motorists looking to cool down with the local delight.
Road users can be seen queuing at Cendol Bakar (Kuala Selangor) Permas Jaya branch at Jalan Permas Timur especially on hot, sunny days of late.
Prices range from RM3 to RM6.50, said branch manager Rizal Draman. Customers get to choose from seven flavours. Their bestseller is cendol durian pulut.
There is also cendol VIP and VVIP with extra ingredients like nata de coco and corn.
Rizal said the drive-thru idea was introduced by his uncle, who is the owner of the main outlet in Kuala Selangor.
“We wanted the drive-thru to give customers the convenience of enjoying the dessert without getting out of their vehicles as we serve them in a cup.
“For dine-in, we serve cendol in a bowl,” he said, adding the outlet opens from 11am to 7pm daily.
He said disabled (OKU) cardholders get to enjoy the cendol free.
