THE Dream Zephyr Foundation (Dreamz) gala charity dinner in Penang paid a glittering tribute to Tinseltown.
Themed ‘Movie-Glitz: A Star-studded Extravaganza’, the showstopper showcased Hollywood Glamour, Sexy Bollywood and Best of Shanghai.
All the guests were given movie star treatment from the moment they arrived at the hotel venue.
They were treated to cocktails upon arrival.
Later, the guests enjoyed fine dining, an exclusive jewellery and lingerie fashion showcase sponsored by Venessa Diamonds, Minami, Stella-In and Baptain Hair, and a dance performance by JDC Dancehouse.
The event was aimed at raising funds for the ‘Aspire Life: Educate and Empower Our Young’ programme founded by the foundation.
Dreamz president Angelina Cheong said Aspire Life, which was conceived in 2016, provided educational and training programmes for children and youths.
“Children will shape the future of our world.
“This is why we need to provide them with skills and knowledge for a brighter tomorrow.
“To ensure continuous funding for the programme, Dreamz stages several fundraising events throughout the year,” said Cheong at the event recently.
She said the foundation welcomed the participation of strategic partners, training providers, international schools, English learning centres and corporate sponsors.
Dreamz co-founder and Charity Fund Raising organising chairman Dr Venessa Khoo said the foundation raised RM150,000 through the dinner and auction which would be used for the Aspire Life programme.
Dreamz is a charitable organisation set up in 2003 to create a sustainable fund for supporting society’s varied humanistic needs.
Since 2011, it has focused on issues affecting women and children.
