Mahadzir transferred to normal ward, in good spirits

PETALING JAYA: Emcee and entertainment personality Datuk Mahadzir Lokman has been transferred to a normal ward after being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) last Sunday.

Danial Lokman said his brother is now in stable condition.

“He is expected to undergo treatment for another week before doctors can certify that he is well enough to be discharged.

“He has been in good spirits since Thursday and is able to have conversations with visitors,” said Danial in a text message yesterday.

He added that the family was grateful to all the staff at the University Malaya Medical Centre for taking care of his brother.

Mahadzir, 60, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he was found unconscious at home.

He did not respond when family members gave him an insulin shot and tried to wake him up.

Mahadzir, a diabetic, was suffering from numerous complications, including pnuemonia.

He regained consciousness on Wednesday.
