‘Please pray for Mahadzir’s recovery’

PETALING JAYA: The family of Datuk Mahadzir Lokman (pic) has appealed to the public to pray for his speedy recovery and to stop spreading rumours about his death.

His youngest sister Ida Neliaty said her brother was still intubated at the intensive care unit (ICU) of University Malaya Medical Centre.

“His condition is stable but he is in the ICU for close monitoring, investigation and treatment.

“We would appreciate it if everyone will pray for his recovery. We are very upset with the rumours,” Ida said yesterday.

She said it was disturbing for the family to receive condolence messages.

“It is already a difficult time for the family,” she added.

Mahadzir, 60, a famous emcee and entertainment personality, was sent to the hospital early Sunday morning after being found unconscious.

Mahadzir, who suffers from diabetes, did not respond when the family tried to wake him and he was given an insulin shot.

His brother Danial said that apart from being diabetic, Mahadzir has numerous health issues.

“Doctors are trying to stabilise him; he also has pneumonia,” said Danial.
